About SCB Davis Chapter and SCB International

SCB Davis Chapter Booth

The Society for Conservation Biology Chapter at UC Davis (Davis SCB) is a student-run organization dedicated to the promotion of conservation-related research, education, and practice. Our active membership of approximately 30 graduate and undergraduate students and other local professionals represents a wide-range of biological expertise and contains current and future leaders in conservation biology.

Our various activity committees coordinate conservation education programs in local schools, habitat restoration in our local watersheds, and conservation advocacy through letter writing campaigns. We also hold conservation biology seminar series at both the graduate and undergraduate level. See our Chapter Activities page for a more in-depth summary of our past and current activities. Check out our Get Involved page to see what you can do to help! We highly encourage undergraduate and graduate students from diverse discliplines, with an interest in conservation, to join and participate! We look forward to seeing you!

Please contact our officers if you have any questions or comments.

Society for Conservation Biology InternationalWe are a local chapter of our parent organization, the Society for Conservation Biology (SCB). The SCB is an international professional organization of over 6000 individuals dedicated to promoting the scientific study of the phenomena that affect the maintenance, loss, and restoration of biological diversity. The Society's membership comprises a wide range of people interested in the conservation and study of biological diversity: resource managers, educators, government and private conservation workers, and students. The Society was formed to develop the scientific and technical means for the protection, maintenance, and restoration of life on Earth: species, ecosystems, and the processes that sustain them.
